ABOUT TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

Take a minute and learn some more about TEDxSTIUHuaHin.

TEDxSTIUHuaHin’s chosen theme is “Stepping Stones”, defined in dictionaries as “a raised stone used singly or in a series, as a place on which to step when crossing a stream or muddy area”. “Stepping Stones” enable generations to create harmony, by crossing rivers, boundaries, and diversity issues. In our community, STIU has always greatly valued building bridges, breaking down walls, through the sharing of ideas and collaboration within the community.  As such, TEDxSTIUHuaHin aims to deliver a gateway to –indeed-, be a veritable stepping stone for our community, in order to help one another to cross those muddy areas of understanding, and to build a better tomorrow, together.
